All I said was that you could do with losing a few pounds!

All I said was that you could do with losing a few pounds!

Finally, episode one of this wonderful show. The series is set in 1952, just after the end of the Allied military occupation, and even with this first episode, there is already a hefty dose of WW2 imagery. This is by no means the focus of the show, but setting it in a somewhat (technologically) simpler time seems to allow a little more room for the ever prevalent mysticism to flourish.

The show deals with concepts of reincarnation, shared consciousness, and of course childhood rebellion spurred on by the all too familiar feeling that those around you “just don’t understand”. With surprises from start to finish, and the development of a truly touching yet tragic relationship, we at Norikumi can’t imagine you not falling in love with this beautifully animated show.

(p.s. A note concerning ordered chapters: As you can see, the OP/ED are separate files, you need to have these in the same folder for them to play, but so long as you do that they should play at the appropriate times during the EP. Our reasons for doing this are that the show is ridiculously pretty, and also the ED has a load of grain which munches bitrate like a stoned fat man eats cookies.  More bitrate = greater filesize and if we gave you the OP/ED each time you’d be looking at nearly 500mb/EP which would make nobody happy. Ordered chapters don’t work in VLC so don’t ask us about it, neither do they work in MPlayer (sadly) although word on the grapevine is there may be a patch. Apart from that, enjoy :D )

I just took a look at your release. You guys seem to be using the same raw as Yesy’s, which is not great. Aero’s quality is much better, but their work sux and it is the other way for Yesy and I chose Aero because they were ahead but watching their stuff makes my eyes bleed as it is so bad. I was happy when I saw yet someone else doing it, never heard of you guys, though your subs are flawless, and you seem to put a lot of effort into your stuff, to me you’re on the same boat as Yesy, not so great raw.

I don’t know if we’re using the same raw as yesy, but we decided to preserve grain because it also preserves detail (at least in this case, we can’t remove grain without grinding everything else in the image). As soon as somebody makes a comparison, you will see that our version has more detail than any other. If the grain is what’s bothering you, then we won’t do anything about it. (P.S. – the other raws out there aren’t that good either; the station don’t pump enough bitrate in them, so there’s less to work with)
